金門聚落裡，有這麼些洋味十足的老房子，它們叫洋樓，是當年出洋後致富的人返鄉蓋的房子。洋樓的造型一般是由傳統閩南建築匠師透過巧思，將殖民地國家的建築元素與閩南建築互相融入而成。因為閩南地區將外洋稱作「番」，因此這些房子又叫做「番仔厝」，兩樓以上的則是「番仔樓」。洋樓百百種，要怎麼才能看懂？

「起番仔厝」是一個專門為國小到高中老師規劃的工作坊，首先我們將帶領您透過金門的洋樓經典範例，了解這種特殊建築形式的內涵與魅力，並熟悉各種建築用語及設計動機；然後透過簡易的模型製作，親手打造自己的番仔厝，體會起厝的樂趣和挑戰，同時找到幫助學校孩子認識洋樓建築和僑鄉文化的方法。

This is a workshop for those who want to design their own yang-lou-inspired home and make the design project a useful tool to teach your students or children about historical architecture! Learn about architectural terms and styles of yang-lou, Western style buildings erected by overseas Kinemense between the 1920s and 1950s. You will be challenged to create your own yang-lou design by using some of the existing historical landmarks or simply using your own creativity!

*All participants of the Workshop will be asked to attend the guided tour in the morning. You do not need to sign up for the tour separately.
